Blue Interiors - are there two types?

Hi All,

Hope everyone is having a good day.

I've only seen one blue interior in the flesh and really didn't like it. Looking at various photos I was wondering if there were two different colours and if one was more generally acceptable than the other. Or, was it a trick of the camera light that makes one look almost black in its colour?

You are quite right - one is mid and one is dark blue. Not sure of the names I am afraid.

I think they're supposed to be called 'blu medio' and 'blu navy'.

With all due respect to owners who have blue interiors, i think the one I saw was the medio/medium, and I wasn't a fan.

Anyone seen the "Navy" in comparison to the lighter blue? Just wondering if it is more generally acceptable or is still a bit marmite?

For sure the 3200GT(A) was available with a navy blue and a much brighter blue leather interior. The navy blue variant may often appear to be black on pictures depending on the image quality and whether a flash was used. Personally I am not a big fan of the lighter variant, the navy blue variant is quity pretty. As a rule of thumb a navy blue interior can be told apart from a black interior by looking at the colour of the carpets in the car. Cars fitted with a black interior were almost always fitted with black carpets as well, while cars with a blue interior in almost all (if not all) cases had grey carpets.

my 3200 has a blue interior, i would guess it is the lighter one, it looks obviously blue in photos anyway, at first i wasnt too sure, i actually love it now, black/tan is just like any old bmw/merc, i do think the blue looks a bit more 'special' and i actually really like how it looks now

I had a 3200 with the dark blue interior...Much better than the in your face blue.....

Don't think I would have another 3200..AC maybe bit not a standard car..One thing buying them different ball game running one......Love them Dem but done that...
