Hi Peeps
I need to set up my 3200 for iphone connectivity, predominantly for hands free phone plus streaming music from Spotify.
The iphone has a small holder by the base of the drivers side A pillar which also allows me to use Tom Tom satnav. I will also fit an external mic.
In my Saab I used a Parrot device which is great, but I would rather just control everything from my Iphone (or the radio) and not have a couple of extra buttons/screens.
As such a blue tooth enabled radio seems to be the way to go. The ones I am looking at have as a minimum:
Bluetooth hands free phone
Rear USB to which I can run a lead to charge the iphone in its holder.
A2DP which allows streaming from Apps such as Spotify
Ability to connect remote external mic
Can change colour to suit ambient green of 3200
May or may not have a CD player - don't really need/want one
Guy at the shop was also suggesting DAB radio which with an extra aerial could be solution to poor reception in 3200s.
Does any one have much experience of usability / coverage / sound quality of DAB? Presumably its' the way things will go in the future?
The candidates I have found are listed below, doesn't seem to be a massive price difference if you hunt around. Anyone got any experience/ opinions/prejudices? Otherwise I'll flip a coin and get on with it.
Alpine iDE 178 BT (no DAB) or CDE 136BT (with DAB)
Pioneer DEH X8500BT (no DAB)
Kenwood BT73DAB (with DAB)
Clarion CZ702E (DAB )
