For me BMW are still the only non Italian car maker that make pretty cars, a lot of you are talking about 40 years ago or so but in my opinion the prettiest BM ever was the 6 series gran coupe, beautiful lines

Agree Dem....The 6 series Gran Coupe for me is the prettiest car they have made over the last 10 years. Would love an M6. There are only two cars I think are striking in the current range though and that’s the 8 series and then Z4. Z4 in the flesh is just stunning and really come of age. Shows they can still design great cars.

The Gran Coupe from some angles looks great but I always think they are trying to hard

Never liked the Z4 in either or coupe or roadster form although mate had a Coupe and it did drive well

The 8 is nice from all angles except the front. 85538

£40k off if you ask, not too bad value then.

for me the new Z4 doesn’t have a bad angle. There is a white one down the road and it is very well proportioned and looks much more grown up than the last 2. Front, side and rear looks good to me.

Remove the badge and that could be a Merc, where as the Supra couldn’t be anything other than a Toyota.

Really don’t see it myself. Mercedes styling has more rounded lines than the BMW lines for me. I couldn’t mistake the Z4 for a Mercedes if it didn’t have the grill and badge.

Don't you believe it. RAF is a holiday camp, compared to the Army.
You'd think that but Gutersloh was a holiday camp for me in the mid 90's. The RAF had pulled out and the Really Large Corps moved in with 3 regiments and the Army Air Corps moved in too. I was one of 20 RAF on the camp and the RSM's left me alone despite my long sideburns, casual walk and summer attire during winter (short sleeved shirt, the horror).

The Navy navigate by them
The Army sleep under them
The RAF - rate hotels by them

We had some RAF types come to stay in transit accommodation in Aldershot, the RQ gave them room keys and bedding (2 blankets 2 sheets and a pillow) said he would be back in the morning, please leave bedding in the corridor
The next day one of the RAF types poked his head around the RQ’s door and placed all the clean unused bedding on his desk - “thanks but no thanks - we couldn’t stay in that shithole, so booked into a hotel”

Malta Barracks to my knowledge is still being used to this day (for army only)

They were right - it is/was a dump!
