Brake union alternate part?

Hi all,

Our beloved Brembo calipers on 3200, 4200 and GS all share the same part Brake Union - this looks like it ought to just be a standard fitting but I haven't seen anything listed in the normal thread, I am wondering if anyone has sourced anything as its a special order from the factory everywhere and is £20 + VAT a side.... which seems steep for such a thing! Anyone know if there is an alternate source for these?

They're just a 'standard' part. Just make sure you get the right size and the right material as dissimilar metal corrosion can be a beggar...

For £30 you can have 100...

The plot thickens, seems to be a M10X1 (whatever that means).... seems to be the same as the stainless one @Zep suggested, so the only difference would be the material, stainless steel vs brass.... would it be ok to use the steel ? The ends where it meets the pipe and caliper looks a slightly different shape also I think?

M10 is the thread size, or diameter. x1 is the thread amount , or pitch so 1mm between them.

I don’t think brass or Stainless would make a difference. But I am sure there are brass ones out there if you want it to be the same.

I'd actually wager the stainless product would be superior...

So I ended up buying both and the steel ones are not like the brass ones unfortunately, they are different in length and the shape of the ends are wrong for ours, so the hunt for an alternative part will have to continue....
