Breakdown cover

Hello chaps.
I do not have breakdown cover for my QP or Kangoo.
The Kangoo is on its last legs (17 years old and 150,000 miles all done by me) and I may well be left with the QP only. There is a small chance the Kangoo will survive. So the question is which is the best assistance provider? I would need home start and breakdown.
Can both cars be on the assistance scheme as I may elect to purchase a banger in addition to the QP?
Thanks as ever

Don't know about other providers but I'm with the AA and I'm personally covered whichever car I'm in, doesn't even need to be a car I own. They came in useful on Friday when I was stranded on top of Bowes Moor with a puncture

AA for about ever. Always been good. Worst part is having to call them *every* year and tell them to stuff their ridiculously inflated renewal quote.

I get breakdown cover with our Nationwide flexplus bank account + travel insurance etc for £13 month - but my ClassicLine car insurance on all 3 cars includes breakdown cover and legal expenses

You need someone who can interpret a code reader fault and then with there 35 years experience try a physical fix on the side of the road, whether it by here or over in Europe ..I'd pay 50 quid a year for that!

Likewise I'm with Nationwide, never had to call them but always wondered what the breakdown service was like.

FYI I've used the mobile phone insurance twice, and it's brilliant. Wife lost her phone, paid the 50 quid excess got a new phone. broke the screen on my Sony and for £50 they fixed the screen and the charge cover, only took a few days too.

Yup. Just got a renewal notice from the RAC saying that my fee will increase from £170 to £250, for 12 moths full cover for 2 cars. I called to say I was cancelling, and they offered me 15 months of cover for £180. I suppose it works for them, but is a ridiculous way of doing business, really.

The only good part is that they are legally obliged to tell you what the previous charge was, so you do get the shock.

(Admiral insurance quote in June went DOWN from £955 to £685, so that was nice.)

RAC is/was offering At Home, plus UK cover for £5 per month.
Its been popping up in my email inbox repeatedly since the start of the year.
One named driver and two cars. No onerous restrictions.

AA every time. You are covered and not the car. When my GT battery died they replaced it at a very good price with an identical one. Also complemented me on my car too.

Have AA with my bank account. They’ve been very good. Had two flatbeds to dealerships of my choosing with no quibbles, saving £££s. Your car must have a valid MOT and road tax to be covered.

Yes, the RAC was the best I could find for my 1999 3200. A lot of insurers do not cover old cars. I think the premium was about £50-60 but there's an excess for call outs of about £50.

We have the Nationwide Flexplus cover which, for £13 pcm gives travel insurance incl. medical stuff, mobile phone insurance (?) and European breakdown cover for any car. There is no age limit so we expect to be covered on the 4200 >16 years old and the DS at 45 years old, Zoe and my van and possibly my 2-wheels. Mind you we haven’t tested the policy yet and hope never to do so

Ditto - we have cover through Nationwide - now cover with AA - and they were brilliant when my car broke down - took it from Worcester to Southampton. And they give cover for consequential loss due to puncture abroad that may affect plans (not that fortunately i've had to use that)

Avoid RAC at all costs....I waited 7 hours for a low loader when I broke down recently (not in the Maz) ...you can’t even call them anymore - you have to use their (CR)APP
