Cheers Parisien.
Downunder, the number of Maseratis on the market unfortantely isn't as varied as say in the US or Europe.
Not too keen on dropping over 180,000 pounds on a new one so looking for a low mileage 2004-2006 QP Sport GT.
Heard there is a change in the auto transmission from 2007 onwards (ZF transmission replaced the Duo Select auto).
I've driven a few 06 and 05 QP's and found the auto fine so would be interesting to hear what others here may think regarding the two and if there's something to look out for with these models. Have heard they eat through clutches which are expensive to replace.
Again, thanks for the welcome.
Hi Cavalier,
A belated warm welcome to the forum from me.
I have driven my 04 Duoselect QP for just over 18 months now,
having driven on 3 european trips and putting on a total of 15,000 miles
in that time with no clutch issues at all (hope I am not tempting fate here!)...
I love the flappy paddle thingy, and my advice would be for you try both and
see how you get on...yes, the duoselect is a little jerky in slow stop/start traffic,
but for me, it more than makes up for it everywhere else.
(I cannot compare it to a full auto as I have never driven one).
Good luck in your search,
Regards,
Enzo.
