I think I'll be driving through Corby and Market Harborough - there's a Shell garage in Corby, for anyone wishing to use that route.

I know the hotel very well, so happy to meet people there for a final convoy into Brunty.

I got through less than half a tank on the track last year and there are a lot more attending this year so likely to be fewer laps each.

If staying in the hotel, perhaps fill up the night before?

I was thinking about us who will be traveling to the hotel to meet up, suspect some will have been on the road longer than me and will need fuel

The family has decided to come along to this, too. I'll try and get a family room sorted out at the hotel, otherwise all plans remain the same and we should be in the Hinckley Island hotel for a dinner and small beer on the Friday night.

Just booked a family room £80, so prices are going up a little. Don't think that another £48 for breakfast represents good value, so will grab something on the road or at the event.

£48 / a family for breakfast? Ouch... yeah, I agree with that, bad value. Hotel breakfasts can be a complete con. Captive audience and all that. I'm pretty sure a bacon butty and a coffee or two can be had at the event, like you say.

You should get one for £55 if you quote Asda and brunty I believe.

Gents here you go...Quote the below...It's for a twin room so family may be more but worth a try....

The hotel deal.
We have confirmed our usual special deal at the Hinckley Island 4 star Hotel for just £55 per night per double room and twin(this year) for 2 with breakfast (from 06,30) included , that’s only £27.50 each, for the 9th August, and the same deal for the 10th and 11th August 2013.
If anyone does want to take advantage of this fantastic deal, all you have to do when booking (Telephone 01455 631122) is quote our reference 'OYM13' and you will get the £55 rate.
Just across the round about there are 2 local pubs, the Hinckley Knight and the Three Pots Harvester where you can get good quality beer and food at a very reasonable price.

Thanks Andy. That's a reference number which opens doors! - £75 for a family room (2 x double beds) including breakfast for two adults, children's breakfasts charged extra.

Ok so having resigned myself to my car not being ready, I will be attending without my car so I have nominated myself as gate ***** and general assistant for the day so I can still be there. I have been in touch with John the event organiser and I am good to come in in the van so I'm happy to announce there will now be an:

OFFICIAL MASERATI SUPPORT VEHICLE!!!!

I will be bringing along some extra chairs, a pop up tent, some tools, jack, lots of 0% drinks (requests please) and even Phil's spare set of 4200 wheels so anyone getting a puncture or shredding a tyre can still get home legally (thanks Phil for approving)! I'm going to try and get hold of a petrol compressor if I can.

Any additions I should put on board please let me know....

At least I will be there!

Newton - YYYYEEESSSS! Well done, the triumph of tencity over stubborn Italian exotica. (Your car won't be happy that you're going without it).

I can chuck some camping chairs in the boot as well (assuming Mrs N doesn't need to bring *all* her shoes for an overnight stay.)

In the meantime I'll get my thinking cap on regarding Stuff We Should Take.

Bloody good deal, Newton. Diet coke for preference for me. Weather is not looking too great.
Stupid thing: Wheel brace?
General tools
Oil
Coolant
PAS / F1 fluid
Test meter
fuses
relays

Random ideas all
