Buying second hand

Hi. I am looking to buy a second hand quatroportte. 5 years old 70k miles around £20k. I don't know anything about mechanics of car. Any tips what I should get in terms of warranty? It is from a second hand garage (not maserati garage) It's MOT is due next month I am thinking I should insist it be put through MOT before I buy. Would that be a reasonable request? Would an AA inspection be worth having or is that too superficial. It's a long way from home and I don't know any mechanics to bring with me. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Get an independent inspection from someone like AV Engineering.

Could save you a fortune and a lot of hassle.

A specialist PPI is essential really on a 5yo QP. Emblem or that way and are a well respected Maserati specialist.

Also speak to Matt Yates (Conaero) on here. He is the forum owner and just started a new place that was as well so I'm sure he would help with this.

BTW an AA or RAC inspection will be of little use or none as they really aren't geared up to know all the typical model issues that a specialist will be well versed on.
