Car alarm on 4200 keeps going off!

Help please.
I've had a minor issue with the car alarm going off on my 4200 face lift when I park it up in town. Steadily getting more frequent and now having spent 2 nights at Goodwood it's constant and now at home as well. Within 2 mins of locking up it goes off. Nothing in the car to disturb it!
Really annoying and is going to lead to more battery drain problems if it keeps going off when away from home.
Any advice, help, would be very welcome.

I had a similar situation where my alarm started going off a lot when I was stopped at services and at the gym etc... After much head scratching I found out it was my iPhone. What threw me off was it also goes off with tablets left in the car. Try this. If not, it is likely to be the sensors in your A-pillars. Simple job.

Adrian.

Jon,
Never happened to me, but when at home, try a power off reset,(switch in boot) ,leave it off for 10-15 minutes, then back on and lock with fob, see if it still happens.

Press and hold the lock button on your key fob until the alarm chirps.

That switches off the A Pillar sensors but still arms the rest of the alarm,
At least that way you can isolate certain parts of the alarm to see what is causing the issue

I get mine going off if it rains hard, so disable the A Pillars if I think it will cause an issue
But at least the rest of the car is alarmed

I had this too. It was when the phone had wi-fi enabled it set it off. Interior alarm sensor must be radio based rather than the normal ultrasonics.

Thanks guys, lots of thoughts I shall give them a go. I had a feeling it may be iPhone or iPad left in the car, so I took them all out and it still happened.....then found out my son had left iPod stashed away in glove box. I'll try again.

Cheers
