Agreed with timing. A lot of cars are “cheap” now compared with a couple of years ago.

But there’s a big price difference between a low mileage, manual F360 in top condition, and a higher mileage paddle-shift in average condition. The former could be twice the price of the later. I know which I’d rather have, and would be willing to pay the difference.

And yet another manual 360 coming up on collectingcars, in the usual retail red at a higher mileage than the previous car ... we'll see how it does!

Well until this morning I didn't know there were two plugs on that engine. I thought it just fired the plug twice!

C
That’s usually called multi spark and general fires the plug a number of times. Quite prevalent in racing. Not so much in production cars although Mercedes uses it.

Really, as an Alfa owner you didn't know?

There are various different setups of Twin Spark engines in the 90s Alfas, with both 8V and 16V versions and confusingly different spark cycles see wiki for the various explanations

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfa_Romeo_Twin_Spark_engine

Well I did (see Wiki!) I had it in my head from the pre-internet days that the early TS engines had twin plugs but the later were multi-spark. But I googled this morning and it's really clear. All this bloody plastic in the way!

The early 16V TS plastic covers even had 2 circles that indicated where the plugs were, I know you never looked under the bonnet ;)

The problem with "looking" at 360 is missing 80% of the deal.
When did you last properly listen to one? Been well over ten years but I can still remember the feeling, almost like early days working on aircraft radar and (accidentally)touching the 7kv terminal.
You don't get that from any modern ( turbo or hybrid) kit, unless via speakers.
I did that on a rad alt, the smell of burnt flesh........
Amatuers! ;)
