I guess the question is what is the delta to a good one because when fixed it is still a poor history car so it has to be v cheap.

I wonder how much the parts are ???

How far can you drive it before it lets go? How much effort to put in to check it? I mean, you're right, but for normal people.....
(I suspect the parts are quite cheap. Just by them for the Chevy)

Unless you want to buy it as a *car* ;)

Fair enough but then why not buy a good one from the outset. I guess we all know how easy it is to sink a lot of cash into a faulty Maserati thanks to crazy parts pricing and also how they are not the easiest cars to sell when it is time to change. Hence my comment as to why it would need to be very cheap. I do appreciate it is not about investment but have picked up a sense over the last few years that there is no such thing as a cheap Maserati!
