For me it was the Rover Coupe Turbo. When I was a 17yr old kid (20yrs ago) this thing was 19 grand which was a fortune. Loved the look, loved the power (200bhp was a lot!), LOVED the targa glass roof, such a nice place to sit roof on or off. Just thought it was cool.

Turns out I still do think it's cool and just got myself an early car. 1993 turbo, 2 owners, unmodified, 96k miles, full leather. Goes like stink for an old banger, I mean properly quick! No lag from the turbo, just feels like you've got a 3 litre V6 under there instaed of a 4 banger!

A moody shot of the beast. I'll have you know the Porsche is out in the snow as my new toy has stolen it's place :)

What do you fancy for a grand or two that you used to love? 300ZXs, 924s, Supras, Corrados, Fiat Coupes, they're all buttons now and were fine cars in their days!

The early Roman calender had 8 days in the week...

Seriosly considering a Honda S2000 as well. They're so cheap and so good!

A MKII MR2, borrowed my mate's one in New Zealand 8 years ago and was pleasantly surprised by it.
I reckon the grey import turbo versions are a bit fun. That is if they're not all clapped out by now.

Karrman Ghia and Volvo 1800s. Still love 'em now, though bizarrely neither are cheap given one's a V-dub and the other's, well a volvo.

That's a good one - 250bhp imported turbo! As you say, all chavved-up to high heaven now.

Supra though, 326bhp for a couple of grand, thats a heck of a car. Shame there is no such thing as a twin turbo manual targa...

Christ Lewis..How many cars can a man have...

Anyway, my wife had one of those Rovers....It was a pretty car and looked just right when it came out....She loved it to death and when I show her yours she will want another I'm sure...Liz's was that deep red colour....

Two cars at different ends of the scale that I yearned for as a young lad all those years ago...

I have some odd ones.

The first was the TR7. I absolutely adored it and always vowed I would have one. As a boy of 12 or 13 I would sit on my bike and admire the brown one down the road. Little did I know then what a piece of **** it was.

The poster on my wall as a boy was an Audi Quattro rally car.

I also adored my classic cars, and still remember I first saw an Opel GT. when I used to walk to college in Southampton, I saw this tarpolling with just the front indicator exposed and thought what was that. I went a did loads of research in the library (no Internet) and the rest is history as I am on my second one now.

I did have some RS Fords on my wall too, but strangely nothing Italian!

Yes, TR7 was another one for me Matt...There was one down the street and always thought I would get one but had a Fiat X19 instead.............Also at Ford Capri 2.8 injection was up there with the RS Escort as well for me back then.

How was the x19? I bet it was a joy to drive but a pig to fix?

Looking into Lancia Montcarlos of recent I beleive they were quite similar underneath.
