Hi all,

This will undoubtedly polarize opinions but at 1200 GBP for the Assetto Corsa centre console, this was a reversible and far less expensive alternative to see if I like the look.

The leather centre console was a little tatty around the edges where the radio had been removed on previous occasions and rather than replace the leather now, I've covered it in 3M textured carbon fibre wrap. I also did the ashtray cover to match as the coating had succumbed to the dreaded sticky syndrome.

Whilst not to everyone's tase I'm sure, I like the look and I know it's completely reversible if I grow tired of it.

Main thing Rotorhead is that you like it , and it does look rather well done , personally if i like something i wouldn't give a toss what other people thought , thats why my hair looks like it does ....... hehehehh a little Carbon fibre can be tasteful in the right interior , but some tend to go way over the top with it and it starts to looks cheap and tacky

I've had this done to the walnut trim in my ghibli total cost was £175 as opposed to £2400.00 forthe real trims!

I'll post some pic's when next in the garage.

I was waiting to see which eagle eye would spot that. In my defense, it's part of an 80's compilation cd... and I'm old enough to remember the 80's.

Thanks everyone for the kind words, I know that these cars are not boy racer projects so it was important that the overall look not be out of character. Apart from a few more sticky bits I have left to clean up, I don't have any more plans for the interior. The GS side skirts are on my hitlist as is a change of wheel colour.

Only suspect thing is the Nick kershaw CD!!!!!!!

Ha!!!

Looks really well done and contemporary.... I could used the idea for my plastic dash parts as there is a scratch on the reverse knob part on mine....
