Classic car insurance on my 4200

It's old enough, being 10 years old, so I have phoned Footman James for a classic car policy, as they also insure my Triumph Stag.
The quote, £566, is about the same as a normal road policy with 5 years NCB, but I don't need any NCB with the classic car policy.
The thing I like with the classic policy, is an agreed value, not market value.
So what value do I get my car valued at, that must be confirmed by a specialist.
It's an early 2002 Cambiocorsa coupe, but its extremely low mileage, only 12,000 miles, garaged all its life, never seen a salty road, so really is unmarked & immaculate?
Also regarding modifications, for insurance, are larini rear boxes stainless steel replacements, or BHP improvers?
Thanks.

Try Hagerty too? I used Hagerty when I had both Maseratis...they're very helpful. As with FJ, you don't need any NCB. The car does have to be garaged, your second car, and only used up to 3k miles a year though.

They cover specialist as well as classic under the same policy, so the age stipulation isn't applicable (I now insure my 2006 AM Vantage with them).

Hi Mike - when it came to my insurance they didn't care about the fact that I'd replaced the (entire) exhaust system with non-OEM Larini kit because "my OEM exhaust had corroded and I replaced it with a Stainless steel system with a lifetime guarantee from a reputable Maserati specialist". likewise, they would have cared if it had been a modification to improve the performance, but I told them "it didn't"... ;)

btw, sounds like you're sorted but FWIW i insure my Westie with Adrian Flux, gave me the best deal

Try these guys, Mike:

http://www.rhclassicinsurance.co.uk/

I've insured all sorts with them, including a highly modified TR7 V8 (for less than £100 per year!) to my current E30 toy, again with a ton of modifications from standard (£130 per year). Policies are fully comp, no NCB required or awarded and 3k or 5k per year.
