As pointed out by Pibbow/Peter/The Man from Arran...:)....when I met him at Auto Italia.........

It all gets very confusing and perhaps for newer members intimidating for them and others to get to know the older hands or as the forum grows just adds to the general confusion of whose using what name for whom in any given post!

Cast your vote so we hopefully can become more inclusive and less confusing for all!

I notice over on SELOC that forum posts are made using user names, but that real names are shown in each members profile, and comes up automatically when PM'ing.

I know Matt talked about a number of changes, up-grades to consider this year, perhaps this should be one.

Hmm... A tough one,

Confusion at meet ups is a factor but there is some merrit in continuing with the anonymous forum names. Whilst I have no problem being open about who I am and what I have done and continue to do in many aspects of my life, there are occasions when posting details of a specific event in the public domain of a forum could have concequences. Additionally some members are also rather more security consious and get upset when a number plate is shown, for them a full name disclosure would be off putting...

I use my proper name on this particular forum. Mainly because I'm rather fed up of being referred to by my weird monkiers from other fora when I go to their meets.

I'm not bothered if people know my name. Frankly, I'm not important enough in the grand scheme of things to worry that someone will someday use a post of mine agaoinst me. Anyway, most of wht I write is made up!!!!!

:D

Its a difficult one, i dont mnd you lot knowing my name, surname or even my address as i feel your all family but some people or newcomers would not want that....some people dont even like their number plate being shown in pics like newton says whereas i dont mind...
When i t comes to meets its not that bad of a confusion, i mean ive never met bal before or dave taylor but all it took was a 1sec introduction & we are talking life again over brekkie.....its not a big problem having a user name, that way you have the option if you want like adam has done where you could have your name as signature at the bottom...
Im happy with people having alias names as i see the majority have so whatever you all want i dont mind as long as its best for the forum!!
