Hi everyone,

These contisportcontact 6 tyres are now available for rears on the qp sport gt - 285 r20 30. I'm about to get them fitted.

My tyre fitter asked two things,

is there a maserati qp homologated oem tyre I should be going for instead? From what I've heard the conti sc6 is better than the pzeros.

Had anyone heard of issues with non oem tyres and insurance? (I'd be real surprised if they had)

fitted at a local shop i trust, they are £227. Seems ok as unfitted off camskills they are £201.

Would be good to hear what people think before I put them on.

I have a GranTurismo but the story is probably similar. Bear in mind that the SC6 post dates the production of the QP so it could not have been approved at the time, however, ....with the GranTurismo the approved tyre was the P Zero but a couple of years ago they added the SC to the list (well this made it a list of two) and the only SC you could get in front/rear sizes was the SC3. I bought a set and they are brilliant.

Check with your dealer - parts are often the most helpful - as the computer will show what you want to know.

I have SP6 on my QP - nice tyres and i got 8.5K out of the rears which is not bad. Grip is great even when low but they were hard below 6 degrees so i put winter tyres on recently and will go back to summer tyres in feb

I'm replacing mine soon and have PZero's on the rear, I am thinking either Michelins or Conti's next, do we have a list of approved tyres for the GT/S?

I had Conti 6s on my GTS and I couldn't fault them, an excellent all round tyre which is where the P Zero falls down

Contis are great tyres although I have always found they need between 500-1000 miles on them before they start working properly
