What a d***,

i have had my car 5 days and scuffed 180 degrees of the rim of my front drivers side wheel. Tyre is fine, not split but I am gutted and want to get it tidied up asap.
I have no spare but my preference would be to have one so that I can send mine off for repair. (i live in the middle of the middle of nowhere)

so

where can I get a replacement wheel, GS 19''. preferably a match

and

can anyone recommend a refurbishment co who will touch these ball polished beauties???

Your help, as usual, will be much appreciated.

Ball polished, ops, that a hard one. There is a company called Lepsons who do it I think:

As for a spare, well you might be able to borrow Enzo's spacesaver if you live close and he is feeling generous.

there is always this method, not a stupid as it seems:

Ball polished are doable but are a swine, by all accounts.

If you really want a spare, then there are usually singles on the US eBay, but they're not cheap! If you just want a wheel to prop up the GS, any 4200 wheel should do the trick.

I share your pain…also managed to scuff my QP alloy within a week of having the car :( . Part of the learning process maybe… These people did an excellent job and I’d suggest worth a call: http://www.reinventingthewheel.co.uk/finishes.html (on the Gloucesteshire number listed - they are in Tewkesbury and are the franchise holder for the technology). I was able to take the car in rather than send the wheel but they did a superb job of repairing a rim and also taking a kink out of another wheel.

they look worth a go, do you know if they offer same day turn around? I'll call them regardless and they are relatively close to me...

Give Johanna at Dick Lovetts a call , they have a specialist they use for ball polished rims, do tell her you were advised by the forum ,hopefully they will give a little discount

Absolutely make sure you get them done by somebody who knows what they are doing. The ball polished rims are 900 quid a pop, so you don't want any mistakes made.

Dick Lovett used to send the wheels off to a specialist in London, not sure if they now use someone else. The refurb prices through them were pretty steep, IIRC. Cortese in Bath also had someone who could sort ball polished wheels out, and were much much cheaper. But this is going back 4+ years now.

They take half a day to do the actual repair (or at least they did on mine) - booked in at 8.30, done by lunchtime.

That kit is mad priced. The Ferrari one fits too, try David Askew, Eurospares and Ebay for a used one.
