Hi

The drivers door was taken apart at GrayPaul for a squeaky window which is still there, but Ive noticed on the drive home and today that there is quite a lot of noise coming into the cabin when on the motorway, it sounds rather windy on that side...

Anyone else find that or when driving at 70 mph on the motorway is it quiet ?

Fold the mirror in and try again. If it is still present then it is the window, if not then a seal in the wing mirror needs lining up.

Given that it's double glazed, it should be nigh on silent. A QP V with a standard exhaust and the windows closed, on a motorway at 70, should be sublimely quiet.

Between the inside plastic cover of the wing mirror and the triangular base of the mirror where it attaches to the door frame, there is a foam insert on the QP 2005.

While renovating my door mirrors, I discovered that the foam was missing from the passenger side, but was present on the drivers side.

While I never noticed any undue wind noise from the passenger side, water did enter the cabin while in a drive-through car wash.

Interestingly, on the drivers side, where the foam was present, rust was present on the window rail and other steel parts. The other side was perfect.

I left out the foam filler from the drivers side as the form on the passenger side was soaked, thus obviously causing rusting in this location.
