Yeah...but its a viable car......not a dog...I hope......the market seems a bit all over the place.........is a car of same age with 30K miles worth nearly twice as much, surely, condition and how she drives main indicators of price of 9/10 yr old cars

I agree about the <10k v's 11k thing.
Its weird, i always look at the <10k 4200's and think, its cheap therefore it must be a dog, avoid!
I have seen several 2003 examples for 17k+, are they really worth nearly double...?

£3-4k dealer margin explains a lot of the spread. Then it's clutch, tyres, brakes, time to next service.

Thats the thing though...the 17k one could be a dog too...and the 11k a perfectly good 4200 and a true bargain........plus if too cheap people are suspicious...as ever the PPI tells the tale

Its how youcmarket it, the 9k might not be a dog but could take longer to sell compared to an identical one at 12k, people think its not worth going near.....

Recall selling my first 4200 for just over £12k...no dog with perfect history and just fully serviced by Emblem and not a scratch...so bargains can be had if you prepare to take the plunge...wish I still had it and used the 10k I put into my next 4200 into a 911 for use around town.

Not saying the second car was not worth it...it was a beauty but was it worth the extra ten???

I collected a 4200 a few days ago Frank, and Emblem have just given it the once over; I've a date with a can of Waxoyl in the near future, but save for a couple of minor problems which I knew about at the point of purchase it looks and drives like a good 'un. It has an excellent history with just over 30k on the clock, and I've enough in my back pocket to give peace of mind.

A friend of mine has just bought a C4S for nearly £40k and was most impressed with the Mas, especially as it has 4 proper seats and cost so much less. His machine does look good in Guards Red though, as opposed to my Blu Sebring which is somewhat understated compared with Rosso Mondiale AC we had previously.

Good times are here again!

Andrew, it might be a question of sticking it out for a while, they can either go in a week or two or take 2/3/4/ months........very unpredictable, some sales are of necessity, others aren't fussed as they can still use and enjoy them

Congratulations Phil,

Let me know when you have finished and you want to send it to the Antipodes!

I have been working silly hours and thought I would have a bit of a break and read the current news; I wasn't expecting this though.

Again congratulations and would love to see some pictures.

Best Regards,

Stephen
