Not sure on the 'buy it now' option but I'm glad the clock works, they're the notoriously dody weak points of these cars and cost thousands to correct and are the main reason for the low prices of these cars. ;-)

Having taken one of these clocks apart to repair a failed light, I can tell you it is pure 1980’s petrol garage grade Chinese watch in there; that kind of cr@p is hard to make!!!!

Why would someone put a car into an MOT with an obviously non-compliant reg plate? That's instant failure if not risking a tug from the police.

Also MY nn MAS is a common theme, me, Sommi and this one plus I saw MM nn MAS at Brands Hatch recently...

Note to self. Change from my smaller plates to standard before mot.

Does anyone else's clock vibrate when accelerating hard?

The police treat all nonstandard plates as NO plate therefore the fine should be the same. Small, incorrect script, no postcode, damaged and unreadable and poorly spaced.

I was told once (sure it was Phil) that small plate =£150 fine, no plate = £100, as long as the letters and the spacing and typeface are correct, you only need an 11mm border around them, so if its just a shortened plate and meet these then all is ok.

11mm around is correct (with 13mm between characters and 33mm between groups and all numberplates even 2 character ones have 2 groups), I checked - my avatar shows how far you can push it completely legally (depending on number of characters and how many "I"s or "1"s you have).

Actually the plate came from an dealer based in ROI (online as no paperwork required since they are offshore) but it is completely legal even down to the BS mark and it flies through the MoT every year. The site I use is very good and they even have a page showing the minimum sizes you can get away with under UK law so that you can order the size you want and specify if you want a BS mark to increase your credibility.

A plate too small is an mot failure and a fine from the plod.
No plate is an mot failure and a question from the plod. The correct response is "it fell off" and then produce said plate from the boot. Which will be followed by something along the lines of "make sure you put it back on".

Small plates with correctly sized (and spaced) letters and numbers are fine. As displayed on my 4200. CE24A34C-9C48-4AA7-B076-90CD6B367DB6.jpeg

I used to get my plates male order from Scotland as rules didn't apply there, (don't know if that's still the case) Makes a total mockery of the regulations to beat fraud.

Oh. Forgot to mentioned. I found out that my plate on my 4200 was actually illegal, as it didn't have the makers name and postcode on it.

But other than that, it was fine.

Thought they just needed the postcode and the BS kite mark or whatever it is now?

My goodness, if the police were to spend their time clamping down to this level of 'crime' I feel we are being short-changed.
I would far rather they were to stop and prosecute drivers committing driving offences which have genuine safety implications - don't know about you but when walking the dog (literally I mean), I watch drivers coming towards me and around 1 in every 5 van or lorry drivers are on their mobile phones, and then along come the young women, eyes glued to the latest gossip on FB on their smart phones hidden on their laps.

I do not wish this to be 'genderist' or 'classist' ot any other' ist' but I have real concerns that dangerous driving issues are perhaps too much for police to deal with adequately and the thought that the odd designer plate is punished is something of an anathema.
Funny too that the only police I have ever dealt with were those who stopped me in 2011 for speeding and I have no issues with that - they were doing their job and doing it well. I deserved what I got!

Well the relisted auction ended last night with no reserve and the car sold for £6400 with 38 bids, will be interesting what happens to this car, will it end up on the track or will it be put back on the road ?

My guess is that it will be broken for parts :(
