Spoons wasn’t taking it off, I’m sure it’ll be thoroughly inspected at the Christmas do !So the wrap was covering knackered paint then. Bummer if someone decides to pull it off.
No, but I was thinking next buyer(s)Spoons wasn’t taking it off, I’m sure it’ll be thoroughly inspected at the Christmas do !
Strange as I thought the door shuts were blue.Just to recap then, HX08GJO was sold by Morris Leslie for £11,704 incl premium back in March 2021. It appeared to be a dark grey paint (?) with lots of lacquer peel, perhaps from a wrap having been unsympathetically removed.
It was subsequently given a matt wrap and passed through West Coast Motors of West Kilbride for just under £20k in October 2021.
The car had a rotten subframe (picked up on previous advisories but not the most recent MOT on 5 October 2021 possibly carried out by WCM themselves) and a loose headlight unit that was not noted either (maybe damaged during the application of the matt wrap since March 2021).
Car is currently not appearing on MOT check websites under the original plate.
The car apparently was orignally owned by Soho Wealth and was black paint, so this car has a checkered past exterior wise.
The car had a PPI and in light of the issues, the most recent owner, Mr Spoon of this parish, negotiated a £2,500 reimbursement from WCM. I am not aware of any engine work that needs doing.
It is understood he intends to keep it and resolve the issues with the car.
I watched the auction when this car went through in March 2021.
As a project car at under £12k this perhaps made sense. You would have ended up with a £20k at least car but could have the work done to your spec including specifying the wrap and resolving the subrframe issues.
At nearer £17k with the reimbursement this was not such a good buy but hopefully another car will be saved.
Mr Spoon has left the forum (his signature) and started deleting some of his posts, particularly those pertaining to the history and condition of the car.
It will take a new wrap for this car not to be instantly recognised if offered online.

Let’s hope that if it is listed for sale again, issues will have been correctly addressed or honestly described.
Welcome back.just a few things:
the car is blue underneath, so get your facts straight.
Scaf - wtf are you and others implying?
I've simply deleted my posts because i do not want you lot to benefit from what I learn and how to tackle buying something like this without spending mega bucks for these precious specialists you're all so far up their arses that you are ticking their tonsils.
I have a private plate on my car, but rest assured for you leaches, HX08GJO will go back on the car if and when I ever sell it and I'll be sure to point them your way for your dick head opinions.
Quite simple, for anyone new, if you don't fit in the old man, look down your nose at others category, find an alternative place to spend your online time.
ps - very convenient you find this post afterwards, would have been a very good post to point me to in the beginning.
you can stick my spoon up your ****.
kisses

I was thinking the same thing, but I have a few shortcomings...lack of car, lack of funds, lack of space to carry out such work, lack of welding tools, lack of talent welding, lack of time...other than that, I'm good to go...If someone sees something like this available again, but more so a GS then let me know…I quite fancy a new track day project…
