I see what you mean by the ‘missing’ 14%. I do wonder what the environmental impact will be to put on 20 times as many trains/buses/teams to carry the folks who need to travel? Though I would suspect the public transport would have to run almost continually.
Indeed. I suspect we would have to make some spectacularly bad choices for it to be only 1%, as 1 x 20 tonne bus with 60 people on it would clearly take less energy to move than 60 x 2 tonne cars from a physics point of view. But there may be other factors at play so I am interested to read it.
