I did want all black but might give up on that idea soon…Why don’t you just replace the washers with stainless steel? Or is that too shiny?
That’s horrible to see and an expensive mistake.Starting to wish I’d just paid the rip-off prices for OEM bolts now…
They’ve only been on there 3 days!

Guessing it was the lack of a “shoulder” on the bolt meaning that it was too tight with no room for flex / movement.
Been watching this three for some time but think I will just clean up my existing OEM.
Hope you get sorted at minimal cost, perhaps plastic welding, I think Matt at SI has one of the hot staple guns that might be worth trying.
My mistake, had another look and can see the water - my only excuse if that I am already on my 3rd Gin of the evening .It looks like the plastic has broken but it’s just pooled water which has made them rust. I wouldn’t bother painting, but you can get them zinc coated and black pasivated at your local plating company.
Not sure what exactly you mean @Scaf, I was just showing the new washers and bolts that I fitted have rusted already. Nothing else is wrong, just the fact I’ll need to swap them all over again. Thanks for your suggestions thoughThat’s horrible to see and an expensive mistake.

Out of interest @azapa, how has your spray painting held up?Bit late here, but they get shabby looking because of the recess they sit in that retains water from washing etc. My cars were ugly at only 13K Kms. I took them out, cleaned them up a little, stuck them in the side of a cardboard box and painted them all at once with a good quality black gloss spray paint. They still look great now, three years on. (full disclosure: my car does not get much use in the rain). YMMV.

Nothing wrong with your pictures, it’s our eyesightI couldn’t / can’t see it because I know it’s water, but my wife agrees with you all.
Sorry for alarming you, I’ll try to take better photos next time lol
