Engine for my Ghibli

Looking for an engine for my '94 Ghibli II 2,8 with manual transmission. Any ideas? My crankshaft is broken, I just bought it with this way. I wonder what would be better - repairing my motor or byuing another one. Cost wise of course... What would you suggest. Any comments are appreciated.

Try David Askew (google him) or Andy Heywood at Bill McGrath maserati They had my 1996 Ghibli GT when I wrote it off that had 40,00 miles on it the engine was a peach as was the rest of the car before the crash!

Also try Lenny at Auto Italia in California. He has a lot of parts for older Maserati and is a great guy to deal with. Helped me source some hard to find bits for my BiTurbo.

How bad is your engine?
You mention a broken crank. Is the crankcase also gone?

It's cracked on one cylinder, one bearing is gone. It's probably due to improper oil that the previous owner used... :( Apart from above mentioned damage, the engine inside looks like new..

In the engine was neglected to the point it has that damage, god knows what else is in there.
If you could be sure it was just the crank and cylinder, it might be financialy better to fix it but you will probably want to put a rebuilt (or at least checked) engine in there.

I am scrapping a 2.8 96 model 6 speed manual Ghibli in HK. Engine ran fine till 3 yrs ago. Fuel pumps died. I am sure with a new cam belt it can be brought back to life. If you need just the engine w/o bits send me a message.

Hi Jluis, tried to reply to your emails in the past but did not have much luck due to some log in issues. Even now I can not place any adss in the classifieds on this forum. I am scrapping the following

a. Maserati Ghibli 2.8 Rare RHD 6 speed manual. (Other than the gear stick and steering wheel which were stolen the rest of the car is complete)
b. Maserati 3200 GT 2000 model Auto. One with 85000 kms and one with 45000 kms.
c. Maserati 4200 F1 . COmplete car in perfect running condition. Owner does not feel he can recover his cost of the car ownership and happy to part it out if it helps bring more money in return. ALternatively it can be exported to the UK . Just passed its MOT 2 months ago.

Also have numerous Ferrari 348/355/360 and some 550 bits.

If members are looking at parts, feel free to place this ad on my behalf.
