After a happy time when us shandy-swilling southerners could feed our cars full-fat ethanol-free Esso Supreme+99, that too is getting watered down. Petrol with ethanol tops please. love.

That’s a bu@@er, use Esso exclusively in the classic and when I can in the Strad.

They had a real USP with this non-ethanol stuff! Do they realise all the Classic and performance car owners that go to Esso for this product? Do they care and even if they do, perhaps they are looking at burnishing their alleged Green credentials. Such a shame.

E10 is getting everywhere, until earlier this year we only had E5 in Ireland but now the dreaded stuff is everywhere :(

Yeah. The key is in the “up to” part.

This video shows the testing of E10 to check how much is in there. Spoiler, it’s not 10%.

Bit of a shame as I also switched to Esso to avoid E5 vpower (although I haven’t watched the above vid). Nice for the winter to know the fuel is likely to last when I’m leaving cars standing more often.

Have a Porsche club fuel card that gives 6p a litre of Esso super which was also a good deal when you fill up in the cheap Esso station local to me. Will continue with Esso for that reason probably.

They want old cars off the road , if the exorbitant ved doesn't kill them E10 will
£32 a month for a 2001 mx5 1.6

Saw a woman with a blinged up white cayenne at Morrisons , £20 of E10 in it , looked great but who puts £20 in a V8

Seems over here in the Countryside there's still plenty of E5 95 petrol still about and to keep my old motors going.

People who hope/expect their partner to do it next time they are in it! Actually I don't mind as at least I know it is getting filled with the good stuff but it is a bit of a standing joke in our house.

I've stopped worrying, put what's in at the pump and will deal with the consequences, if any down the line. Heard it all when lead was phased out, this isn't much different in that it will/may have a detrimental effect. I shall see.
dont see a viable alternative response other than above, "control what you can control and accept what you cannot control........."

Just came across this- purported to be a length of Cohline fuel pipe that has been on a classic for 2 years. Cohline say their 2240 pipe is suitable up to 100% ethanol....!!

We've come across a fair amount too - a couple of petril stations we pulled in today in Switzerland didn't mention anything about E5/E10
