2 days before the 3rd anniversary of completely reliable ownership, my 4200 CC F1 pump seems to have given up :-( Annoying as I was just about to put it away for the winter months.
Drove home with no problems the other night but next day it has been showing CC warning light and car not starting. There is no whirr/whine from the pump when I unlock the car. Forum threads have been very useful as always, so I've tried a battery reset, rocking the car back/forth etc. but to no avail.
Any recommendations for central Scotland indie? PK Supercars seem to just do storage now, although I've left a VM for Phil just in case they'll handle a repair. Graypaul Maserati in Edinburgh quoted me £2600 inc. VAT for the pump fitted - no idea if that's reasonable or not?
Is it a relatively simple job in that a competent mechanic - not me!! - could do this without it having to go to a Maserati specialist? I read on other threads that there's an Alfa alternative part....
