Have you tried breaking bad ,The Sopranos , Boadwalk Empire, Band Of Brothers, The Pacific

All of these have a cinematic production values , especially band of brothers, arguably the best TV series ever made

Though everybody I speak to raves about peaky blinders , I've had three goes at season one and still haven't made it to the end.
With you there on Band of Brothers. May have to give that another watch been a while.

Breaking bad does take a while to get going , season 2 really before it gets interesting.
If you liked Saving Private Ryan , band of brothers is fact based with short interviews with the actual soldiers depicted in the series , made by the same production team as the movie

Loved Peaky Blinders binge watched the whole lot over a few days.
Ms French thought it too violent which it was but it got me hooked.
Told my daughter I'm getting the haircut for her Wedding.

Fire TV
SKY Q (runs off WiFi)

Use them for content.

The inbuilt TV software is always poor.

Buy whatever TV you like, all the decent brands are reliable now. Just depends on personal taste and cost.

For what it’s worth, I’ve had two LG tellies break within 2 years and so have changed to Panasonic and am much happier.

Anyway, back to reality. Just get the cheapest TV with the apps you need. You won't be watching films in the kitchen requiring soundbars and 5.1 dolby . You'll mostly watch the news in the morning with Capt'n Crunch or stream some cooking programme with James Martin... or his brother Guy...lol

As for size get a big piece of cardboard and hang it where the TV will go. If it's too big cut a bit off,

Thanks guys, going Sony Oled for the simple reason I can sideload Android apps.

I’ll be cutting up cardboard then MLC.
I bought a Sony OLED as a Xmas gift to myself. The new Sony’s have the ability to record programs and rewind if you have an external hd or flash drive. It’s pretty nice and tbh it’s made me not use my sky box once. You won’t regret it!

Tis indeed a nice feature and very useful. Works on my LG as well so saves having to have or use a separate set.top box.
