I guess that whine over the soundtrack is the synthesised substitute of an exhaust note you buy with one of these(?).

That is a very lovely blue. Similar to Victory Blu from the MC Victory.
Just a tad pricey though, when a base model Taycan is not far off half the price. There can’t be many people willing to pay £180k approx for an electric Maser, especially now the early tax saving incentives are being wound back. Time will tell.

Interesting to hear Harry Metcalfe talk of the luxury of silence when driving an electric car. In this case he was talking about his PHEV Range Rover. It’s in the latest episode of Harry’s Garage on YouTube. He compares on old PHEV (his Rangie) with a new one (BMW X5) and a full electric (Porsche Taycan Cross-Tourismo) - it’s quite interesting for those in the market for such a car.

Yes, it’s an interesting point. We’re very accustomed to listening to a car and using that feedback to assess and control it; it’s been integral to the experience of driving with the exhaust note at the centre of the experience. Enter the EV with a lot of computer control - potentially driverless - and manufacturers have the opportunity to market that as ‘luxury’(?) … Perhaps we’ll all come round to it eventually, happy that the raw and risky experience of controlling an ICE car has been taken away.
