Follow-up to BIG BAD TROUBLE

I don't know if you can recall that on February 20th I was caught for speeding. :frusty6:
It was for 132mph.

I have my summons for June 6th at the Magistrates Court.
No postal plea will be accepted - a bit too fast I think!
However to return to what I said then. I have no issue with the police who acted quite properly and their written statement reinforces what I had said. Ideal road and weather conditions; only two cars overtaken on the 2 miles or so that I was followed and no element of dangerous driving though the video supplied shows a tad more on the speedometer; so the 132mph is generous.

Funny, I still drive very carefully and realise it was just plain BAD LUCK on the day.
Do keep your licences clean chaps and enjoy those V8s.
Still madly in love with mine.:jpheart:

A bit of a worry for the old man sitting here but I will face it in the fullness of time.
Report will follow when results are in!!!

Lets hope they are not Green Party members i was done in 94 for 112 on the M5 in similar conditions.
I had a 2 week suspension of my licence and no points but a big fine.
But we are big guys and i knew i was going fast i was only glad they nicked me at 112.
Last sat i had 160 out of my old girl.
Do we ever learn.
Phil.

Phil, I would check to see if there is a brick under your accelerator, you should be able to get much more than that out of her!:mock8:

Benny she will do more than that i just do not want to get caught i was on a early start to get to a special stage rally where i was service crew for a E30 M3 using my 4200 as the service vehicle which caused a few stares but we ended up 2nd in class and apart from 1 bent wishbone to change it was tyres only.

I know mate, I was only joking! I have only done 160+ once and I'm glad I didn't get caught. Good to see you are having some success in the world of rallying. Long may it continue.

Night before the royal wedding when all the plod were buisy in the West End... I found the rev limiter in top! for just a moment but it is there and comes around awfully quickly and I've only ever been that quick in aeroplanes and a mag-lev train (Shanghai) and almost on a bike...

Frank I said those at the time!

When I go through the pearly gates I intend it to be very quickly; so I don't have to give to detailled an account of myself!

For this speed you are 99.999% certain to get a ban, how good your solicitor is and how well they know the bench depends on how short the ban could be. Assuming you were in a 70 limit? Clean license up until now?

Defend yourself and get a car-hating /speed-kills magistrate you'll get a year, maybe 2 or more. In some circumstances you'd be facing dangerous driving (we've all done it so I'm not judging). Get a decent brief, be extremely sorry, wear a sober suit and tie (nothing flashy) and you might get 3 months. Offer to pay a larger fine, offer anything to reduce the ban length, the longer then ban the more it influences your future insurance. Paying out a massive fine now will save you money on insurance long-term. Be *so* very sorry, a one time moment of madness in perfect driving conditions, never again etc. It's all bollox but you need to play a game here.

Do you need your license for work? Perhaps ferrying an unwell relative? It's all about mitigating circumstances. Get on 'Speed, Plod & the Law' section of the Pistonheads forum and also Pepipoo.com. And please spend the money on a good brief!!

Good luck :)
