Once again thanks for all the support , I love this forum , a big thanks to a members wife for some great advice to , contacted ACAS and with her advice to , wrote a letter to the directors with my stance etc . Got a reply from one of them by email this morning ( he is currently in America on he's hols ) not all over yet but feel a bit positive this morning .here it is ...

Hi John,

Feel bad about Weds and the fact I dropped that on you then left for holiday, awful timing really.

T*** mailed to say that you won't accept. I don't blame you as sure I would be the same. I have told him to tell you that we will have longer meeting when I return and leave things as they are till then with wages etc.

I want to repeat that I do value you and I see you as a long term piece of the G****i jigsaw as you have made a great difference to the way we organize things ‎and your a bit asset for servicing and installations.

I'm sure we can reach a compromise for the short term and then look at the pay structure for everyone long term once we finally get some work.

Take care

G***

Good, Mav, very encouraging. Looks like time to sit tight and keep the bridges unburned until you can have that longer meeting. Don't slow down on the background work, though, and make sure you're prepared for a variety of outcomes.

PS - you should probably edit out the company name.

Cheers , I am realistic and are open to a compromise and certainly don't want to leave as I enjoy my job .As long things are in place in writing to be reinstated when work pics up .

Sorry to hear this mate, as others have said you work ******* hard for a living and deserve to be paid well for it. Don't go down without a fight and seek legal advice please.

John,

Just read the whole thread and firstly, I'm sorry you've had to go through this and again the power of this forum is coming up trumps for you.

The letter back from your boss is encouraging and my only advice is stand your ground, don't do anything daft that could get you the sack or disciplined as it could be the wedge they'd use against you. Be the model employee.

When it comes to the meeting, be very non-committal, do not agree to anything, just let them do the talking, be silent. It unnerves them. Before you speak, think, form the sentence in your head they speak, my advice would be to ask questions, never make a statement unless you are confirming what they are saying, take notes! If you have a legal representative, let him/her do the talking for you.

At the end of the meeting, if they want you to sign a new contract, say that you want to take it away and read it fully and consult your union/legal rep.

And good luck!!!

Looks encouraging mate. You've done the right thing. Now the balls in their court. Do as Martin says.
