??Lewis did say that he hopes the fans get their money back…I tend to agree but as they did too laps I would imagine they will say it was a race.

They should have moved it to today. The next race happens to be in Holland so it's much closer than usual for moving everything. It was too dangerous to race yesterday and you could see that wasn't going to change so the bu&&ering about and then the award of half points seemed unfair.

I think that was the point Lewis H was making. They only ran the parade laps so no refund applies both to spectators and some of the business to business transactions associated with the “race”.Agreed, or just cancel it running yesterday was pointless, not literally, and they should have called it earlier. I wonder is it like the cricket, no play means a refund but one over means no refund
Fair enough on the refunds, good additional perspective.I'm sure they could have got it together if they really wanted to. It's probably just down to money, it always is. Especially with F1. I suspect they are contracted to come and race and by the letter of the law, that means 2 laps and then they are not in breach of contract with the track and it's funders. It would have cost them more to run another day and it's unlikley the track would want to absorb any of those costs and so they make a legal resolution that means nobody can sue anyone else. And the fans get f all.
And I don't agree with anyone calling for refunds. The cars were on track plenty of times over the race weekend and practice days, the support races were run in the main too. Perhaps an extra free ticket to Friday practice next year for race day ticket holders or something that actually boosts attendance and sales but not a refund.
How dare you! Lol@mods can we change the thread title to Formula 1 ?
Took a while to search for as F1 is too short. Also, it is the main F1 thread and not just about qually.
You suspect right my friend!!That tells me GR has the Merc seat next year and LH isn't too happy about it.
T'is done, sorry Allan@mods can we change the thread title to Formula 1 ?

Is the Russell move now a done deal?
Nothing has been announced but I though the interview at SPA with Jost Capito was interesting in that when asked about Russell he said he would love to see him back in a William's one day, hinting he was going elsewhere, if not Merc, where? Hamilton has appeared "off" with Russell, even going back as far as Sakhir, in an interview today Russell said he knew where he would be driving next year but not say where, if he was staying at Williams why wouldn't he just say that?Is the Russell move now a done deal?

Conspiracy theories everywhere!
Disclaimer... I may be totally wrong!!!
It would be a new order for Merc, Hamilton is out of contract after 2022. I've seen Russell play the team game 110% at Williams, that's different to bowing down to a team mate though, don't think he's capable of that. Which is good.Well if he’s leaving Williams the only place is Merc, everyone else would be a backwards step I think.
I find it interesting based on the past that a team boss would want two really good drivers, unless either they don’t think George is ‘that’ good or they think he’ll settle for no 2 which time and again has proven to be unlikely, to get to F1 you need an ego the size of Ron Jeremy’s ….

Edit:- We may just get to see if Hamilton is
that good.
