what i found out, after long reaseaech is that Jeff (FD) claims that they will fit, but they're not 100% centered, which may cause bigger pad wear.Have you noticed this?

Nikos, thanks to the concerted efforts of James / Maserati V8 (over some time I might add), he gathered together very detailed information on both the OEM disks and the Brembo 550 alternatives. If Jeff is referring to the offset, then there is only 0.08mm difference between the two, which James surmised was well within engineering tolerances. This seems to have been borne out by the numerous members now running the Brembo's, myself included, with no uneven pad wear, though I accept that mine are still relatively new, and uneven wear would present itself over the longer term, but I'd be very surprised if this is an issue.

Details are here in post 68...

Perhaps...the other small being...that the pads are only £70 a set if using GGs...hardly the end of the world if they need changed a bit more often!!!

I completely admire your thoughts, and like i said yesterday, i've taken my decision regarding which to buy. But, i can also feel the anxiousness of putting something that is not designed for the specific car.Mates, it's all about brakes, it's not about the sat nav.Brakes can save your life, and i'm in a period of life, where i still use my car to drive for fun, and not only be happy just for beeing inside..this is the reason i'm beeing that careful. Before trying something new, i prefer to ensure i take the right decision...
Many thanks for your feedback!!

The brakes are not the cars best feature Nikos.......you only have to drive hard between the roundabouts in Milton Keynes as Loz does, to find out after the 5th roundabout...serious brake fade sets in!!!

He spent £3K plus on an up-grade to bring them up to an acceptable standard!!!

But, the 550s and GG combination do seem a bit better than the OEMs.

If the Brembos on a 550 are up to the job of coping with de-cellerations from 200 mph then they should have no problems stopping us from only 176-180 mph!

Loz will be only too happy to give you the grand tour of all 456 roundabouts....the only thing is......you WON'T be!!!!!

I can vouch for the Milton Keynes roundabouts for ultimate brake fade testing... I have not done them in the Maser yet but my last sports car would be all out by the 4th or 5th one every time! The only other series Ilike it I know in the UK is the Horsham bypass from M23 junction, by the time you are at Horsham you are on borrowed stopping! and only the finest brakes can make it all the way to Christ's Hospital still working... And I have previously posted my recollections of flaming brakes rolling into Macclesfield from the Cat & Fiddle in my old 230 Merc!

You're all invited by me to test your brakes and FD springs/sway bars in the Greek countryside.Maybe the groom, Dem Maser is able to give you an idea..!Nobody told that the 550 discs won't be able to stop the 4200.The subject is all about the fitment.
Are there any videos from Loz's driving?..

Lol...Nikos...assume that was tongue in cheek....the standard brakes are not great.......we feel the 550s discs/GG pads are slightly better.....thats all.

Discs arrived yesterday via fedex.I couldn't sleep all night! They were installed today, with the FD pads.I didn't push them because they are new, but i made some 6-7 stops from 100-0 Km. The vibration on my foot is over, the feeling is smoother, and this was my goal.I have no idea how they'll perform at high speeds or at my sport driving, but the first thought is positive.
Many thanks for you info, and for making me save some hundreds..
