I'm still undecided...it's a "nearly" car for me.

Think it depends very much on the colour...complimenting the shape and ultimately will have to see one in the flesh and drive it.

Saw a new QP recently and thats a definite "no" for me. Disappointed with its looks and it was enormous.

Cheers Wattie

The number plate said 301KW which equates to just over 400bhp, so its not the diesel despite that sound at tickover.

So that makes it the Ghibli S, which is 4 wheel drive - except, as I recall, not coming for RHD markets :( : 2979cc 24v twin-turbo V6, 404 hp. I must say the new QP doesn't do much for me so far, but the Ghibli is starting to look quite promising. That blue is lovely (and I'm thinking so would a darkish red, maybe since everyone else will be buying the blue...?), and it sounds good in this top spec. I quite like the idea of a twin turbo after my lovely 4.7 V8 (eventually...but not yet!). Seems very sensitive to colour scheme as others have said, and the Maserati white stick approach to launch colours hasn't helped up to now (oddly enough, same with the new Range Rover which was launched in pearlescent anaemia pink in dealerships). Not giving up hope just yet.

The Ghibli does look better than the Audi QP Norman without a doubt........and yes the fastest one is not coming to our shores...

Remember chasing and passing one of these on the way to Como last year. It was fully covered in black plastic...he was not too impressed that my 2006 Coupe could show him a clean pair of heals

From the side, I like it a lot.

Front and rear there are some elements that I am undecided about.

White does not suit it imho.

Sorry to say, it does nothing for me. I like the rear lights and I like the interior. The engine shot of that big plastic cover, hiding an engine that has been built on a budget just turns me right off.

Where is the passion and the flare?

Am I alone?

It looks worse the more I look at it I am afraid. I thought that black would hide the funny grill shape and the strange rear end treatment but it does not. New QP is better.

there are elements I like but ultimately it appears to be looking like another euro barge like audi etc not quite how I envisage Maserati and Im sure that the QP has a certain amount of drama and fanfare about it where this offering seems a bit muted and dowdy and stylewise the cars have all stood out from the crowd till now

IMHO, I think Maserati have just done enough to differentiate these cars from the competition style-wise (limos for the QP and 'e' segment for the Ghibli) but they should not have stopped there!

Both the new QP and Ghibli should be superlative in design, elegance and classiness but they are not. I just don't understand why Maserati didn't push themselves harder? Perhaps they thought it would have sufficient mass sales appeal... but I just think they got it not quite right enough!

I need to see both as I currently think that the QP has the more resolved shape.

Overall I feel that it all supports GranTurismo values as there is not a lot to get excited about here.

No you are not alone its squarely aimed at mass market and a different buyer otherwise how will they hit their target sales

Such a shame to see the brand marketed this way perhaps it will help older models values one day
