The b&b on this side is Marquis of Granby in Alkham. We have used it before for one night stop over. Comfortable, decent food, and very handy for the port or tunnel.
On the other side for when we return we have booked a night at Chateau de la Garenne near Guines, not used it before but it's only a night.
I am not planning on night driving but just want to be prepared, and not give the French police any excuse to bother me.
Hope that is of use to somebody.

So do we - but going through Switzerland we felt it safest as we didn't want to be stopped. And they came off no problem (but then the lenses are only 99% perfect).

When I drove through Switzerland I felt like I was about to be pulled over at any moment with my loud car that barely has any cats. Drove the length of the country with a stop in Louzern - the Swiss only cared about collecting their vignette.

I noticed on a separate ski strip when I hired a car and drove through Geneva, Granturismos with (open) valved exhaust were very common sight, considering they are stock maybe people arent surprised by a loud maser as a result

I think intense prolonged sunlight can bake the adhesive onto the lense.
