Before and after. I have a spare Trident that was vandalised in an attempt to remove it, I`ve glued it back together and thought to paint it red.
The grille mesh is racing plastic, very light!

Looks really good on the car, I love it when you get a nice easy fix that makes a big difference to the car very satisfying.

I`ve also got to replace the oval badge on the bumper as well, I thought I might be able to escape with using child labour but the poor little dear complained about his arm getting squashed or something! and then he couldn`t turn the nut with only his fingers and a single socket with no wrench to use, pfft.

Indeed!
In my early years we used to do a fair amount of tidal river cruising. On one occasion the boat we had at the time had twin Volvo Penta inboards, shaft drives, which had problems with failing jabsco water pumps. We where on the tidal River Trent at the time and one engine started overheating. No option to just pull over with a fast flowing river, so 'as usual' I had to strip to my underpants, jump into the engine bay and change the water pump and shaft seals in situ, while the other engine was spinning away at full chat a few inches away! Never though anything about it at the time, was about 12 years old. Would never contemplate doing the same with my son, much more H&S aware these days!

Thought I would give my grill a good clean today undone the four bolts along the top and soaked the torpedo bolts at the bottom, however pull as I might I can't et the old one off, anything I'm missing?
Thanks

Any smart ideas to remove the oval badge?
I`ve removed the bolt from the back easily enough but the badge is stuck pretty firm.
I`m wary of levering into the bumber with a screwdriver (even backed with a cloth) as I can be a bit impatient on these things and just give it a heave and cause damage.

I thought to get some dental floss work it under and try to ease it off that way, but the dental floss snapped! leaving a few threads and me off for a beer. next thought fishing line!

Is a broad blade screwdriver better? Other thought is a paint tin lid opener but that may be too agricultural..

Getting the bolt off it a good start, as these often rust solid. After that use the fishing line as you suggest. The badge sits on a glued foam pad that holds it very firmly. Break through the foam layer with the line and it should come away.

Cool, I think mine could do with freshening. A hair dryer will warm the adhesive pad, and weaken its grip. Should make it easier to remove (with fishing line, but you might want to find something less stretchy)

After heating up, use dental floss

It was about 40 degrees here in Perth yesterday and probably about 45 in the garage ( I know no sympathy from you guys in the UK, but I just wanted to get that in there) so heating it up didn`t help. I`ll try the fishing line and finger nails.
