Very true. It was my first classic car back in 1980. the handling and steering was sublime. The 1.3 V4 one of the top 10 best engines I have had in any car.The Fulvia is a sweet little car to own, even the 1.3S is willing to let that little V4 rev and for a front wheel drive they handle really well. On those bendy back lanes you will be surprised how well they go.
Great car, if anyone is looking for one, I have one that I'm looking to sell (as pictured in my posts in this thread), but not got around to advertising yet.I do love the aggressive stance of the HF and the other limited edition models but the pure lines of an early S1 are very pleasing.

Feel free to message me for details.
I know Andy and I have messaged but I want one like yours and what my late fathers looked like.
I look every day.
My S1 is a real gem. I'll miss it desperately, but between work commitments, Cumbrian weather and too many cars, it's time to let it go. Happy to share previous inspection reports.I'll sell you mine and then buy the S1?
My Fulvia has been sold back to the dealer who imported it from Italy.Saw a Beautiful Series 1 Rallye on the road today in the Loire Valley just like Mark's one and it certainly got my juices flowing and then I met the Milf estate agent but at 57 the Fulvia wins.
Wow that was quick and just proves you snooze you lose.My Fulvia has been sold back to the dealer who imported it from Italy.
Oh my Goodness I might just have to renew my competition licence.
