My 4200 GT Spyder CC gearbox requires topping up , can anyone tell me the correct fluid or equivalent I can use . Ther is a leak at present from the gearbox , the car is going in this week to have a service and also to have the leak remedied . I require to top up the gearbox to ensure I have no problems while transportiing the car to the specialist , any advice on the fluid requirements appreciated

Are we definately talking gearbox oil , or the hydraulic fluid that feeds the F1 pump and actuators

...is that the same as "Cambiocorsa" system Oil type CHF as in the hand book Loz?

P

Yeah frank, except its called CS speed now , as used by the main dealers and Alfa dealers for the selespeed , really its just a mineral hydraulic fluid , but dont mix it with other kinds/ Halfrauds equiverlants

So CHF is not made any more....always thought you were supposed only to use the exact standard...not even the beyond the grade new versions?!

Not sure whether the original spec is discontinued Frank , i changed the lot

I bought a litre 3 years ago Frank from H R Owens, and thats what they were using/recommending , did the trick for me with no bleeding necessary when i changed the pump , have topped up several times since (less than a teaspoon full required each time ) and still loads left

Seems, a lot of high spec cars now use Mobil 1 ATF, or equivalent. Its is a higher spec, and works better, seemly. Anyone used this oil?
If you want to use CHF, then visit your local Volvo dealer. If they still stock it, its Agip CHF, with Volvo on the bottle.
