There are only a couple of choices for the GT

No a new tyre available in GT /GTS size is the new Vredenstein Ultrac- They are a brand new state of the art tyre made in Holland apparantly and not only have very good reviews but are cheaper than the usual P zeros /Michelins.

i have put them on my GT and very impressed so far...

Have you thought about putting lower speed spec tyres on your Mas? OEM's profit from car manufacturers recommendations that the speed rating of your tyres should reflect the cars maximum speed. Hmmm. Where in GB can you do in excess of 150mph? (To reach a granturismo top speed of 177?).
So why spend more than you need to? Go to the tyre that reflects the maximum speed you think you will ever do whilst owning your chariot. I personally have never been faster than 138 mph in my M3 @ Nuremberg. In the UK, probably 120mph (on a private runway of course). Could save you £50 per tyre???

I understand what you are meaning but not worth the risk insurance wise to my mind.

I have Bridgestones on mine front and back - you can also get Continental Sport Contact and Dunlop Sport Maxx in the 20"

for the 19" you can get pretty much most major makes.

That's interesting as the Bridgestone website does not list two identical tyres front and back which meet the load index requirements on the door sill - 95 front and 100 rear. You can get the RE050A for the back but for the front they only have a 91 load index or a 95 if you go runflat, which obviously is not appropriate.

That's the general problem though, getting matching front and back. Pirelli and Michelin do and the Vredestein which Ratbag has posted make three. I have had a look at the Continental website and they do the SC3 in the correct sizes but they do not state the load indices so you would need to order them/ring Continental to find out. Dunlop also don't do matching front and rear tyres so the choice is now three or four, at least better than the two I originally thought!

I like the way with the Vorti that the wider rear tyres have a different pattern to the front, for they are designed for the front tyre to clear most of the water, so more rubber on the rear for grip. Makes sense.

The old Pirelli tyres on my 3200 did that - you bought a different pattern for the back as to the front.

Just been quoted for the new Vredestein Ultrac Vorti's

245/35 ZR 20 - £210
285/35 ZR 20 - £240

Cost includes fitting, balancing and valves. Think I'm going to give them a go at that price.

Sounds good at that price. Pirelli's would be about £200 more. Is the tread pattern the same front and back?

Hi Guys

A few years ago i had an Audi A3 2.0 TDI Quattro 170 BHP, it had the Verds Ultrac Sessanta on when i bought it and must say the were good, nice tread pattern and lasted really well, replaced with the same when required, also had a 335d E92 BMW and replaced the run flats with them as well, would highly recommend.
