GranSport MC Victory Front Splitter Replicas?

I'm thinking ahead prior to the collection of my MCV and thought it might be wise to do something about looking into a source of these front splitters.

I have read during my pre buying research that they are a) very expensive and b) pretty much unobtainable so either way if some cost effective replicas could be made this might be a good idea?

Mark and i have a contact whose company makes a lot of the decorative carbon trim for companies like McLaren Automotive and Aston Martin (he can also repair carbon fibre to a very high standard) and I was thinking about approaching him to see if he would be willing to do a run of these spitters for us and if he can replicate the blue carbon weave etc.,.. before doing this it would be helpful to know if there would be a demand from both other MCV owners and other GranSport owners for these splitters if they could be done at a reasonable cost. I imagine it would be possible to have both with the blue weave (if he can do that) and normal polished carbon for non MCV cars if desired.

Anyway for now if I could have the forum equivalent of a show of hands from those that might be interested.......

Nice idea.
there was a member from France who made carbon rear spoilers and paddles. Anyone remember the name?

I would consider it yes, but as Peter says, if its bumper off, I would probably not do it, so would look like bonding what a few bolts that could be accessed by removing the front grill and sidelight.

Cost, obviously, would be an issue, £300 mark then yes, £1k, then no.

Thanks for that and mjheathcote for the link. I am hoping the fact that we already do business with the contact I have in mind means we will get trade rates if he can do it.

I would have thought it the rear spoilers were £220 then the more complex front splitter is likely to be a little more than £300 but I will start making enquiries next week and see where we go from there.

Ah guys, we did not have a very good experience with him (Ahvlanico), I would strongly recommend you find a UK supplier.

Some of them did not fit as they had gone out of shape and he got very @rsy about sorting it out, said it was not his problem, but he was happy to take the money and arrange it.

I would also be very interested in the carbon paddles. FD and others offer them, but they're ridiculously priced for what they are. Robin - would you be happy to discuss this with your supplier as well? I reckon there would be decent demand as they would fit all 4200s and GranSports.

Yes I recall, although after the clear coat was sorted (arranged by yourself in the UK), the fit was (is) perfect on mine fortunately.
I agree a UK supplier would be much easier to deal with on all stages of a project.

There is a Maserati friendly firm in Melbourne who have branched out into carbon fibre work.
I have their paddles with the red edging to match my piping.
I know they were working on rear wings for the GS of the larger Stradale style.
Front splitters is something they probably hadn't considered .
They are on the Australian Forum, so I'll ask them to get in touch with Matt.

I think I have seen their stuff on eBay, no harm in asking but the import duty to UK might make it a less viable option.

I'll start making enquiries with my contact next week.

Mark, yes no problem asking about the paddles. Does anyone have a set not attached to a car as a template, or normal paddles so they can see the fixings without taking the paddles off the MCV?
