Gransport surfboard skirts - are they removable?

I'm looking to buy a Gransport or 4200 manual over the summer, just too busy workwise at the moment. I love the interior of the GS, not so keen on the side skirts. Would these be removable? Thanks in advance.

Yes they can be removed. There are a few 4200 around which have had the GS side skirts added.

Having driven both 4200 and a GS my personal opinion is the side skirts do add something to the handling. GS feel a bit more planted when pushing on and the front end does not get as light as a result when compared against a facelift 4200.

I would keep them on in all honesty. There would probably be some remedial paint work needed on the sill if you did remove them.

Keep them as it is part of the character of the car. I expect it would hurt resale value later if you removed them.

The side skirts and wheels are the defining features of the GS. If you’re not keen on it then just get a normal 4200 and put the GS seats in it.

Removeable and standard 4200 calls are cheap and worth peanuts and plenty of availability from breakers.
