Hi All,
Looking to get a GTS finally, I potentially have quite a wide budget, I've never seen a model with such a wide range of prices over such a short age window. £20k to £50k for a 2012-2015 age range, madness.
Anyway.....
Its the in car entertainment I'm interested in. I understand its pretty dated as stock. What years of cars have an USB port? Aux Input? When does the ICE change that permits bluetooth media streaming (youtube music/spotify etc) and when does android auto/carplay get adapted? Did parking sensors come in on a particular model year?
Bose worth having?
Thanks

2009 MY onwards have a USB port/Aux input.

2018MY onwards have MTC+ which allows Bluetooth Streaming along with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay.

All have rear parking sensors. The vast majority have a comfort pack which includes front parking sensors (as well as heated seats and easy entry seat).

Bose isn’t worth having but most do.

I think the best option is the Navi Plus upgrade which retains all the OEM Media unit but allows to be switched to Apple or Android at the press of a button. It’s circa £1000 supplied and fitted.

Hope that’s of help to you re audio.

Re prices, from 2012-2015 is really around £28-45k so a £17k spread rather than a £30k spread. The difference is down to all sorts of factors of which I’m sure you’re aware; model, gearbox, mileage, colour combo, history, and most importantly, condition.

I have Bose in my 2015 GTS and it sounds much better playing audio through the Navi Plus upgrade which I connect to using Android Auto.

So i know this is nothing to do with the thread title now, but what does the collective think about this car?

I like it, but my initial thoughts are that it looks a bit tatty inside, and at nearly 50k miles, i think it maybe over priced. There seem to be better cars for less money, but not in a desirable paint colour like this, and i definately like the vented bonnet, carbon pack, etc.
I also think its an MC-shift rather than an Auto, because its a facelift car, with no gear stick and oval tailpipes.

Thanks in advance

Yes it’s an MC shift. Not auto.
first question I would ask would be clutch wear %
At that mileage it has hopefully had one recently- meaning no looming £4k bill.
If I were in the market I would definitely go and view or get it inspected.
Second question- subframe condition
Third question- brake disc wear
Fourth question - service history/cam cover gaskets.

On the price- I have noticed the expected slump over winter, but for facelift MC shift cars, prices seem to be reasonably healthy now the weather has improved- obviously I don’t know if they are selling for.

I’m following prices as am likely to be changing mine this time next year.

Excellent thread this. Thank you for starting it, Street dragster. I find the in car entertainment in mine absolutely excellent, far surpassing that in anything else I have owned recently. But what is all this talk of Bose and Aux inputs and the like. Sounds suspiciously like hifi talk to me. The in car entertainment in mine is installed under the bonnet and is fitted with variators.......

Or, indeed, Rostropovich. And to be desperately fair, I do ache for a better sat nav in mine, a 2008 QP.
Still ecstatic about the underbonnet ICE though.

I’ll second this, the Navi Plus retrofit in my ‘09 MC Shift completely unlocked my BOSE sound quality…I don’t know how, if there’s a mini amp in the box module thingy or something in the rewiring but it was absolutely night and day.

I had Audiofile-InCar fit Audison Prima components to my doors and stuff them with dynamat. Absolutely huge difference in sound quality using the SM CarPlay system.
About to do the same with the 360 and fit CarPlay.
