Granturismo S Insurance at under 25!

Hi

I am going to be purchasing a Maserati Granturismo S and am just at the stage of getting everything figured out in terms of cost etc.
The one stumbling block I am coming across is Insurance. I am 23 years old and unfortunately have 3 points on my license from last year, (38 in a 30)! I have spent hours online looking for insurance and the cheapest I have came across is literally over £3,000 per year. If I put my age to 25 the quotes are less than half the price. I expect to have to pay quite a bit for insurance because of my age but just thought I would ask on here before I go and spend over 3k for a years cover!

Does anyone know of any companies that would give a young driver cover that is something even close to reasonable?

Thanks

I wish you well but I am too busy remembering when I was 23 and the rubbish I was driving then!

Try Sky Insurance. Still won't be reasonable though. But might be better.

But then you come to a dilemma. Wait 2 years or take the plunge.

Thanks for the replies. Il try out the suggestions and see what I can come up with.
Part of me is thinking just wait until you are 25 but waiting 2 more years to get my dream car just to save a few thousand per year on insurance is a tough call!
The itch to get a gts is getting stronger every day and I'm sure I cannot wait another 2 years lol!

23 I was driving a leaky Lotus Europa! Shop around, I'm with Mannings, they are specialised, not sure about age though. As said, go for it. :)

If you believe the Daily Mail/Express then it's nice that a 23 year old is considering insuring their car.

Was Driving a Ford Laser, 1.6l when I was 23.

0-100 in 10 Years.

Thinking this is a **** take, but if not, all the best with your insurance hunt and purchase.

It is definitely not a pi** take. I guess its not that common but its absolutely possible. Im sure there are some self made teenagers driving Bugatti's and Pagani's somewhere in the world!
I booked a testdrive at Greypaul in Edinburgh and made the 3 hour journey from Aberdeen to get there. When I handed the guy my driving license he looked shocked and said that the demo cars are only insured for open driving on drivers over 25 and he had wrongly presumed I would be over 25! Needless to say after a 3 hour drive from Aberdeen to get there this wasn't what I wanted to hear but after a bit of discussion he let me take it out! Thats the day I decided I would own a Maserati GTS this year!

It is not that uncommon either.

I know plenty of 21 year olds in Lambos. Not that many buy Maseratis though.

They are seen as too practical. When I was 23 I got a two seater car as I didn't need 4 seats and I didn't need practicality.

Actually to be honest I still don't need 4 seats. But I have it so I can take my friends in it as well.

A man of exquisite taste. Best of luck, Craig.

23 for me was a 1969 mark 3 Spitfire. Tremendous fun, when it worked.

I also had a two seater when I was 17..........OK it was a Fiat X19 ....... Insurance back then was £700 for her.

At 23 I had one of my fav cars of all time, 2ltr mk3 cortina E in metallic blue with, wait for it, a black vinyl roof. Not to everyone's taste I know but I still find myself thinking about that cars lines at times..........
