Great insurance price.

As a newbie I'm probably covering old ground, so apologies.

However, as you have all been so helpful in my first week of ownership I want to try and return the favour.

Usual shopping around came up with some crazy prices for my 3200. £1700 from Aviva. Admiral offered £500 to go on our multicar.

Then a broker that I use for my business came up trumps. Fully comp, commuting and covered if it is ever parked outside the house (problem with some other companies I spoke to) £370

I'm 37, no points or accidents and live in Brighton. Doesn't use NCB either, so we can still use that on our Legacy. Result! Broker is Kevin @ PC Petter and Son. He's also a bit of a car nut too.

Hope it helps someone.

Is a bit of a result, well done! Personally I shifted my ncb over to the 32 given the Alfa is cheap to insure anyway. Next year try Adrian flux, they will do a competitive quote including buy back clause and agreed value on a classic policy.

I got insured with E Sure - for 260 / year fully comp on a GTS. I had to slowly repeat the details several times to the young girl...and asked her to check with her supervisor...when confirmed, I hurriedly paid on my credit card - and was rebated 128 pounds from the premium for the old 330. Bizarre ++

Will do. Cheers. I knew you old hands would have it covered!

It is well worth considering a policy with agreed value (as Greg said). There's a world of difference in what the insurance will offer compared to the reality of replacing the car in the unfortunate event of it being written off. I use Classic Line for mine.

Well, just had my renewal from AF - I've 9+ years on my daily car (keeping that on that as I've children insured on it) and had 3yrs with AF on the last car they insured for me and last year paid £X for the GS, up comes the renewal this year (with no claims on either car, no other changes except I'm a year older and have 1 more year NCB) is £Xx2! Time to ring around. Will try some of the other names here.

Renewed mine today.
Last 2 years been with One Answer insurance brokers, but today back with A-Plan insurance brokers who I used before One Answer.
One Answer have been good, and the renewal premium was competitive, but the renewal paperwork and communication abysmal.
£420 plus another £60 for broker fee's and legal cover.
Happy with that, all modifications declared and also importantly agreed value.

Insurance is bizzare , I replaced a 09 impreza WRX with a 11 golf 1.2 mid term and had to give them £35 on top of the administration fee , I asked them if I was insured in the impreza in case they had it down as a subaru justy or something

I was amazed to be quoted £60 more to insure my new (old) QP from the same day, compared with starting the insurance the next day. Apparently the underwriters feel that someone who wants insurance immediately is more of a risk.
