Back looks nice, front ok but like a puma or e-pace jag.

Im not in the market for a 50-90k suv though.

If I was I’d spend less and either go stelvio veloce or one of those new NX Lexuses. Just seen a lovely green one in the showroom whilst dropping off my old 400h for a service. A lovely quality item to cruise about in as a family car.

Watched the unveil this evening... what a load of horse ****... you don't need some silly story about the car to sell it, it should do that on its own. And why the shots are in the dark??? Are they ashamed of how it looks?

+1 we love ours
I’ve a feeling the Stelvio and Giulia are not long for this world so pretty soon that point will be moot unless you buy a secondhand Stelvio.
Take a look at the UK configurator; the options are stripped right back from what they once where. No more silver wheels, for example, and fewer stitching items.
I foresee a realignment of Alfa Romeo into the traditional European heartland (the Tonale is the start) after a valiant but largely doomed attempt to take America. Put simply - the Stelvio/Giulia won’t have direct replacements; Alfa have already said that the Giorgio platform won’t be used by them anymore, whereas it will by Maserati (where presumably the margins are larger).
I’m sure there’ll be another Alfa large SUV but it’ll be cut from the wider Stellantis cloth.

Looks good but that’s the pointless model. 500bhp SUV’s are daft. I’ve driven a Stelvio QV and found it doesn’t work in the real world.
I forwarded the video to find the bit where it was belting down the road, but it didn't happen. Lame way to try and sell the Trofeo version.

The front is odd, in that colour certainly. Overall, looks good though, and SUVs certainly have a place in my family. I'd happily have one if it popped up at the right price.

Someone has a Stelvio in work and must say it looks underwhelming to me which may be the colour as they are colour sensitive…The V6 quadri thingy does look much better but standard car looks a bit well a bit boring and the interior looks like it will fall apart if it even saw mud. Just doesn’t look a quality package. On looks for me the Grecale not only has it beaten it gives it a bloody noise in the process. But so it should as Maserati are suppose to be in a different league.

I drove a QF around the Millbrook mountain route and it felt like I was in a floatation tank attached to a rollercoaster. My mate’s just bought one, so I’ll see what it’s like on a normal road, as that mountain circuit is pretty petrifying in a normal car, let alone one with a centre of gravity somewhere near Jupiter.

That's pretty much the feel we have with our Stelvio. It feels like its floating, especially when unloaded. Its also tall and light which was a nightmare driving in the storms we've had.

The Levante was a completely different beast, but was twice the price and weighed more. It will be interesting to see if Maserati are able to get the same feel in the Grecale. If they do I suspect there will be a lot of moaning from butthurt Alfisti.

The launch itself was cheesy beyond belief. Are they not confident in the car itself?

Some indication of pricing and availability would be interesting. The Trofeo looks crazy but we'd be more interested in the Hybrid as the price will be eye-watering.

Stelvio and Giulia will have one more revision on the current platform before re-appearing as electric on the new Stellantis platform based on the Giorgio. There are spy shots around of Stelvios with Tonale style front lights which is a shame because the current ones look mean. I'd expect this refresh later in the year to carry things over till 2025/6.

Well I think we now know what the front of the new GranTurismo will look like.

Rear will be more MC20

Netunno engine detuned to about 450 should be a simple task to get it back up to 700

What’s not to like!

I understand the front to be very MC20, the rear not much change. Electric will come first and the Nettuno engined car will be detuned to around 600bhp, it will have 4 seats. Its look will not be hugely different from the current model. It’ll likely be around £140k base price.

The Grecale will start at £65k hybrid, the electric Folgore around £85k and the flagship Trofeo will be circa £100k.

I quite like it. We have to remember that not all cars are about speed, handling etc. SUVs can be practical and relaxing to drive a long distance. Maserati must change (like all manufacturers now) in order to survive. I hope it does well so we will continue to see stunners like the MC20.

Thanks, they’re great things.
I’d still (whisper it) choose a Daihatsu Charade GT-Ti over one though.
Where is the article? My wife had a Smart roadster for a bit, it was a hoot. Right foot glued to the floor, hilarious (awful gearbox though!)

The Uno Turbo (Mk1.5) is in the current Auto Italia.
Did a comparo-piece for Modern Classics between a Mk2 Uno Turbo and a Charade (plus lots of other things) for a Turbo special edition about four years ago. Preferred the Charade as the steering was a bit more direct and the chassis a bit more in tune with the engine; three cylinders also made it sound like a baby V6.
Still want one tbh…

I don’t get pricing anymore. I know that these are the sort of cars that sell but I much prefer to keep a more normal SUV for day to day stuff - bottom of the range petrol XC90 riding on air for me - and the Maser for when it’s dry and warm. I know that performance SUVs are a lot better than they were but I can’t get round the fact that they would handle better if they rode close to the ground and weighed a fair bit less. Would much prefer an RS4 Avant as a sole car. Yes I know this is a tad old fashioned!

I think it's a good looking SUV and if they have sorted the rest of the package as well then they could have a winner, Let hope so, so bored of seeing Korean and German cars everywhere.

I do not like the Levante one bit and time has not improved my view but this looks so much better when you look at the detail. The back is not a lazy design like the Levante and being smaller it seems to work better. For me it looks better than the Alfa it is based on and the Trofeo has bonkers performance but as said at a price. For me with the MC20 and the fact this looks good for a SUV makes me feel confident for the GT.

I agree re the Levante, not a fan of the looks at all....and the choice of alloys.
This however looks a lot better- far more aggressive/sporty looking. Nice alloy design, too.
I even like the yellow.
I’d better go and have a lie down.

£140k base for the GT is a real hike on the old GT. That would make the Nettuno engined car with decent options close to £200k, no? Surely that is beyond where it should be for a relatively (compared to the MC20) high volume model?
I guess at least it should mean my Stradale should continue to hold it's value!
