That's weird then, unless the battery connection was bad..?? Were all the flat batteries on Italian's..??

Navtrak told me the unit has its own battery and doesn't take power from the car battery at all.
If the navtrak subscription lapses they turn if off remotely. If you want it active again it costs £25 to activate it and takes 48hrs to respond. It needs the engine running for a minimum of 10mins to get charge back to the nt battery. If they can't get a signal after 48hrs, poss if the battery no longer holds a charge it costs £155 to come out and change the battery. If the unit is knackered the extra cost is £320
Yearly subscription £153 - ADR £276
The guys in the garage told me all the various systems have to shut down at staggered times so there is no power up surge if you suddenly jumped in and started up again after 10 mins for example. SO perhaps some of these aren't shutting down when they are supposed to in various cars. Mine seems OK to just leave it, though I do put it on charge if I've not used it for a week. My other cars are always on charge out of habit.

That could be the case on your car and it may be on mine as I have ADR..!! The Navtrak Battery has to get power from somewhere to charge it..!! On some of the older systems I'm pretty sure it get's power from the cars power and the only source is from the battery as everything else is switched off, this was one of the reasons batteries kept going flat, the satNav battery was duff..!!

I keep my QP in the locked garage but the car is unlocked
Should I lock it to shut all electrics down as Blu Elettrico says?
So far no starting problems but it is getting cooler now!!

We do both, the one that suffers from satnav potential issues is left unlocked in the garage, the other that does not is locked normally, it's a difficult call, depends on if you have had battery issues in the past..??
