Gorgeous weather today and thought i would take the Spyder out for a spin this afternoon, noticed the rear brakes binding, assumed it was sticking calipers but seems there are shoes for the handbrake that could be the issue instead, before i investigate does anyone have experience on potential things to look out for

They do suffer delamination, so check they have not broken down before trying the adjustment.

My shoes were showing signs of rust, so I replaced them last year. I bought them from Autodoc for a fraction of the OEM price. Arrived in around 6 days from Germany.

Put your reg in to see if it comes up with a match. If nothing appears and you know the OEM part number it may give you an alternative. They stock ones for the Shamal, so you'd think they have some for a Bi Turbo.
If you put in your registration and its not showing any stock, just copy the maserati part number into the search bar. For some reason, it's not showing all parts even though they have them in stock

both with reg and then maserati part number it comes up as zero results

What's the part number? Pop it into Google or ebay search, that will yield other results.

Tread with caution, but another trick is to find the old part numbers.

328060111 looks to be a superseding of 318020111, there will be a reason but ignoring that for a minute a search of the earlier number results in.

in the ebay advert they say the speak English. I can't help you any further, good luck.
thanks for that, will be checking if it is the shoes at fault over the weekend and then might send them an eBay message, doesn't specify if it's for a set or per side and no international shipping price either

No worries, on the shipping it just says in the listing to ask. At least they have them in stock. I would ask eurospares using the first part number how long to get some, at least then you cab make an informed decision. If you need em of course.

I bought some for my GT as I heard scrapping and want to have a pair to hand just in case, but at auto doc pricing it's more of a contingency No brainer

Moral of this story is "mustn't t jump to conclusions" which is what i do all the time  , took wheels off and shoes are fine and was in fact sticking callipers both sides, not fully seized and managed to push back pistons to free them up, tried euro car parts for new rear pads and nothing comes up, however managed to find out same pads are used on Volvo S70 and in stock for collection today, thanks for help

pistons moving freely now, by the way if anyone needs rear pads for a spyder or any other maseratis that take the same pads just go to euro car parts and ask for volvo c70/s70/v70 rear pads, they're as cheap as £13 but i went for the Pagids at £28

Yes it's often a stuck caliper, even on a daily biturbo.
Many parts are still available for 4 bolt rim biturbo, much less for 5 bolt ones. Calipers were shared with volvo and BMW, so pads are still available. Discs are not.
