It may need you to put a little pressure on it while someone else pushes the button, hope it works.

I should have enough to get home and I'll try as suggested and use the red string if not :-(

Home now with 10 miles left on the computer!

For info the 'Fuel tank door' is page 96 in my book - "Maserati Granturismo Sport"

I'll try pulling the cable in the boot shortly and report back as the wife is out

Thanks for your prompt help guys!

It should be easy enough to find, it's behind a small secured flap on the near side inner wheel arch inside the boot.
Sorry to hear your woes

OK, found the cable and opened the flap.

All fueled up now but the proper method via the dash button is definitely not working.

Having only had the car a week I'll get onto Maranello first thing Monday as I'm away to Europe in it on Friday.

Once again, thanks for your prompt responses.

Another "must learn" is how to open the car when the battery is dead. Especially the boot, wherein lurks the battery. Tucked under the swab of the rear left seat is a pull-cord. That's your emergency boot release.

PS - your car looks fantastic. Lovely colour.

Try some silicone lub on the latch. Mine refused to open several times when I first bought the car - which gave me a right heart attack - I assumed it must be dodgy Italian wiring, but a little squirt of silicone seems to have cured it for the last few years.

OK, it's all fixed now.

The mechanism itself was sticking and just as dickygrace suggested above the second bout of pushing teh flap in seemed to release it. The mechanism looks a little grubby so some WD40 has been applied and it now works every time.

Once again, thanks for your help guys :)
