Hi all
Took the 42 out for a long run this morning after a long slumber. It started making intermittent beeping noises, I remembered hearing the wat to cancel this was to turn the battery switch off for 10 mins to reset. I did this and stupidly shut the boot!
Now I am locked out of the boot with no way of getting back in, The lock doesn't open manually with the key. Both doors are open which I cannot shut as the windows won't go down.
Can anybody help me with a way to get back into the boot.........I'm sure this has happened before.

Thanks in advance...

The key should open the boot but often as they are not used much they need a good spray of WD40 or similar

Any idea why the manual key doesn't work? On the QP you need to push down the boot as you operate the key.

If the manual key doesn’t work. Connect another battery up. Earth on the chassis, feed to a main power cable (starter, alternator, fuse supply) then you’ll have power to open the boot.

You can feed the windows into the seal and carefully close the door, usual ends up in the latch and you then need to give it a shove. Same for open, hold the window in at the top until the door is open a little then feed it out.

Is there not a manual release cable in the back of the car like the Granturismo?

Did this on my Spyder lots of WD40 and gentle movements it eventually released on the key but it took a lot of soaking and leaving and coming back and repeating before it released

We can now go to London this Sunday for our break as there is no longer a dead car in the middle of our drive!

Excellent, after this happened to me I manually used the key to open the boot every once in a while to stop the issue ever happening again

A bit like buying stuff from shops with good old cash........No one does it anymore. I'll use my key sometimes from now on!
