Hi everyone,

I've just joined the forum. I'm in Lincolnshire & I'm on the lookout for my first Maserati. I have my heart set on a GranTurismo, and there are a couple of 4.2's close to me that I'm considering. I've always had Company cars in the past, so I've never really had much experience when it comes to purchasing a car for myself. One car is 57 plate, 33,000 mls for £36k. The other is 57 plate 38,000 mls for £35k. Both are at respected local dealerships, but one is a BMW main dealer & the other deals only in various auto exotica. I'm going to take a look at both this weekend, but would just appreciate your guidance as to what sort of questions I should be asking about these vehicles? Obviously I'll be wanting to see their service histories, but anything in particular I should be wary of, or asking about? Any input & guidance would be appreciated. Thanks all, & I look forward to joining in when I can.
Cheers for now,
Grahame

Hi Grahame, and welcome.

Two people you would do well to contact are our own Dicky Grace, of Richard Grace cars, and Nareman Virk, of Nuvola London. Neither are quite on your doorstep but both are committed Maserati nuts and exceptionally well regarded. Worth a call rather than just looking at the web-sites as they can help source the right car for you rather than just selling what they have in stock.

The main points to look for are:

- Service history. Not even main dealer as long as it's a good independent, of which we are blessed with many
- Front parking sensors are a big help because the GT is, well, big. Barje-like. Same footprint as a Landy Discovery
- Independent inspection and / or a good warranty may well save you a lot of money.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.
