Whats taken you so long , i know Maserati owners tend to keep things close to their chest and at best its a very closely guarded secret , but get ready for the time of your life , read up on here and ask what you need to know loads of helpful info ,enjoy the rollercoaster you wont be getting off at the top i can assure you of that , that maserati grin is worth every penny

Thanks Loz,

Not sure why it has taken so long, but the fact I will be doing less miles and looking to be 3 car household makes it viable now.

We have just had a little boy and don't fancy another big German car, the QP seems to fit the bill nicely!

Im positively sure it will , and a whole lot more , taking control and ownership of a Maserati will without doubt give you a larger longer lasting grin factor than any Audi or Merc ever will , and i have two mercs , great cars reliable but boring to drive, you will never tire of the QP , surprisingly you'll find its the most street cred car you will have ever owned old dearies will let you out , hoodies will give you the thumbs up instead of the proverbial Wanchor two fingers , get ready and just buy right

regards loz

Welcome MF,

It takes a leap of faith to own your first Maserati but boy is it worth it.... smiles from ear to ear as no other motor get you those envyous looks and strangers complementing your car! Best of all is the motorway plough of a front grille; I don't mean its ugly not at all its the way it clears the outside lane like nothing else you've ever possesed.... it does encourage hooligan behaviour though!

Hi and welcome, I also came from the Audi side and wasn't keen on moving but so glad I did, only a Maserati will do more than 10mph standing still (check the speedo - it maybe only on the GS's)

which Audi do / did you have ?

Welcome aboard, as Enzo said, what Audi you have??

Guys, I have had multiple V A G cars from the early 90's to present day. Just sold an A4 cab, and looking for an S3/A3 Quattro, also have and Ibiza Sport that's used by visiting family/friends.

You know it makes sense.....not a leap of faith....but a decision of automotive brilliance!!!!!

What Ibiza you have? Cupra?

It's just a Sport on a 56 plate, the wife used it for going to work in but as we live 200 miles from our family in a rural area we have kept it for visitors as it is a good little motor.

Have just sold a tricked Caddy DSG that I used for dive trips too, kind of a V A G nut so worried what will happen if I get the Maserati bug....

A belated welcome to the forum MF. Hope you find a QP that fits the bill. It's a stunning motor car.

Hi MF

Welcome. I am a newbie. Yes I always say it's an event. You will notice being noticed. Being lured into a blast off the lights also tempting.

I am not sure I should put down the German marques; though you will be putting away your invisibility cloak if you go for a Maserati.
It's all about a mind-set.
If you want to move from the safety of ***, I think we would all recommend it - most of us have probably never been so happy with a car - but there are some who will shake heads and 'tut-tut' if you say what you want to do.
If buying 'new' then there is never going to be an issue and the choice is easy ..unless you are devoid of any passion! If buying 'used' then take your time; choose with care and have an independenjt inspection carried out if necessary.
We have divengent views though I would always look at mileage as much as simply the age of the car. FSH essential.

I have to say that I watch pedestrians passing our house and most have a second (or even third) glance when they see the car in the drive ...just love those acquisitive looks! I've even had some pop in to take photographs!
I think if I had an Audi there, it would be yet another car!
Sorry to be brutal but I am passionate about cars and the Maserati is passion.

Hi MF

Over the years, my wife and I have had 8 Audis, always feeling like it is the sensible and safe choice. Most of them being performance Audis, but I remember always having that feeling of "all that money and what do we have?", as though there was something missing. They are, without question quality cars, but built with a whole different approach.
Since moving to Italian cars, I now realise what I was missing, without realising what I was missing at the time.

Imagine having a Mistress.
She's an accountant, very thorough in everything she does. She asks you over for a meal. It tastes very nice, one thing leads to another, you note she even folds her clothes before slipping under the sheets, you leave later in a timely manner, and the next day you get on with work and your life.

Then there's the other Mistress.
She's Italian. Dark hair that sometimes shields her eyes from your reading her intent. She asks you over for dinner. She's late. She dances around the kitchen; she's drinking all the wine, then she's drinking some more. The meal is presented with such flamboyance and style, it doesn't matter if it tastes good... but it tastes good. You barely get chance to finish it, when she's slipped over to your side of the table and straddled your lap playfully, full of vivacious, high-spirited intent. The rest is for your imagination! The next day, you're late for work, knackered. When colleagues regard you with a confused expression, you can't wipe the puerile, knowing smile off of your face. You fall asleep for part of the afternoon.

Get your Maserati, MF...

life's too short not to

Great description
You forgot to mention the lighter wallet bit too!!! LOL

Since buying my 2003 Coupe last year, you do get noticed more, especially when you are giving it the beans. And that's where it matters, the car is alive when it is full of beans it becomes all consuming, all your senses come alive, the noise, the speed, your hands feeling for the road (including the seat of you pants!) and the smell of the leather even after 8 years means a quality built car. Love it! Money well spent.

Welcome to the forum and when you do buy, welcome to being truly alive.

No, too dicklasic for that.
After a drink or two though, easily aroused.

Sometimes wonder if I drive/regard my Mas with "beer goggles"

But what a way to go :)
